Speciality restaurant Love by Britto has officially opened onboard Princess Cruises’ new ship, Sun Princess. The restaurant is a first-of-its-kind collaboration between Brazilian artist and painter Romero Britto and chef Rudi Sodamin, who is head of culinary arts for Princess Cruises.
Love by Britto has been designed to be “a feast for both the eyes and the palate”, according to Princess Cruises. The 68-seat venue is located at the rear of deck 17 on the 4,300-guest ship, features artwork from Britto and offers guests a seven-course dining experience created by Sodamin.
In keeping with the ship’s moniker, the “next-level love boat”, the restaurant includes dinnerware featuring Britto’s art, heart-folded napkins and cutlery with heart-shaped cutouts. There are also heart-shaped entrees and seven newly crafted, love-themed cocktails. Love by Britto carries a cover charge of $79 per person.
“The art of Romero Britto makes people happy with his unique expression of the universal language of love and his creative inspiration blends with my culinary passion to deliver a high-end, meticulously curated menu that guests full of memories overflowing with love was a transformative experience,” said Sodamin. “We’re both proud to see Love by Britto come to life with Sun Princess guests celebrating this exclusive dining event, showcasing the harmony between food, art and love.”
The 4,300-guest Sun Princess made its debut on 28 February 2024
Sun Princess features 30 restaurant and bar venues created in partnership with celebrity collaborators. The ship, which was christened in April 2024, is currently sailing Mediterranean voyages before it repositions to Fort Lauderdale in Florida in October, where it will spend the winter season sailing the Caribbean.
