MedCruise hosted destination associations and ports involved in the European Cruise and Ferry Port Network (CFPN) to discuss the content of the forthcoming European Code of Practice for Cruise and Ferry Ports.
The CFPN, which was formed as part of the European Sea Port Organisation (ESPO) on 4 November 2014, brings together Cruise Baltic, Cruise Europe, Cruise Norway, MedCruise and Cruise Britain in a strategic cooperation that provides a united voice for Europe’s cruise and ferry ports.
Chaired by MedCruise and Cruise Europe, the meeting focused on establishing best practices to strengthen the partnerships between ports and cruises and ferry operators. Other subgroups within the CFPN focus on competition and cooperation between ports, infrastructure Developments, security and relations of ports and the city.
The European Cruise and Ferry Ports Code of Practice is expected to be released in 2016.
