MedCruise has launched a Working Group in Tunis, Tunisia, which will be led by Cherifa Ben Salem, MedCruise director for North Africa, and focus on boosting cruise activities and itineraries in the region.
The group was launched after MedCruise president Airam Diaz Pastor presented a Working Plan at the 51st MedCruise General Assembly in October 2017. It is made up of MedCruise member ports, including Port of Tangier, Port of Ceuta, Tunisian Ports and Egyptian Ports, as well as associate members such as La Goulette Shipping Cruise, Mercantile Marine Shipping, Algeria Cruise Services and Ceuta Tourism Board.
At its launch in Tunis, attendees such as Pastor, Ben Salem and Tunisian Minister for Transport Hichem Ben Ahmed (all pictured) discussed the current situation of the cruise industry in the region and plans to create a road map of actions that can be implemented in the coming months.
“The launching of this Working Group will have a positive impact on the cruise industry in the whole Mediterranean region and bring new opportunities to the cruise industry-related companies that operate here,” said Pastor.
