TUI Cruises’ Mein Schiff 5 has resumed sailing in Greece after a break of over a year, departing on a series of one-week cruises to and from the island of Crete.
Around 1,000 guests embarked on the ship for her first sailing, in which she will call at the Greek ports of Rhodes, Piraeus and Souda.
“When we hear the ship’s horn and our departure theme for the first time again, it will be an emotional moment not only for our guests but also for the crew,” said Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises, before the departure.
TUI previously cruised around the Greek Islands last September onboard Mein Schiff 6, along with shore arranged or organised by the cruise line.
‘’We are certain that all passengers will once again enjoy our unique Greek destinations and we are very happy to have assisted in this restart process,’’ said Harry Theoharis, Greek Minister of Tourism.
