TUI Cruises’ newest ship, Mein Schiff Relax, is to be christened in Malaga, Spain, in a celebration that will feature an concert by British singer Robbie Williams.

Two sister ships – Mein Schiff 5 and Mein Schiff 7 – will accompany the new vessel as godmothers, with guests of all three ships having the chance to attend the christening. Williams will perform for the 15,000 passengers in an open-air venue, before the traditional champagne bottle is smashed against the bow of the ship, accompanied by a light and stage show. Passengers on all three ships will also have the chance to have a christening dinner or cocktail.

“The concept of this ship, with all these wonderful places where you can relax and feel good, is something very special,” said Williams. “I can't wait to celebrate with all the guests at the christening.”

The voyage will visit Tangier in Morocco and Gibraltar following the event in Malaga, before returning to Palma de Mallorca to conclude the cruise.

Guests onboard the voyage will be the first to experience Mein Schiff Relax’s new culinary options, including Fugu, a new restaurant offering Asian cuisine with a digital experience from Berlin-based chef Tim Raue. Those onboard Mein Schiff 5 and 7 will also have a chance to taste some of the new dishes from Mein Schiff Relax during their own voyages.
