Mein Schiff Relax, the eighth ship in the Mein Schiff fleet and the first in the InTUItion class, promises to provide a “new feel-good experience”, according to Daniela Hensel, spokesperson for Mein Schiff, owned by TUI Cruises – which belongs to TUI Group and Royal Caribbean Group.
“Our new ship offers our guests a high-quality world of relaxation,” she says.
Mein Schiff Relax is currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, and is expected to be completed by March 2025, when it starts its first voyages from Palma de Mallorca.
The newly designed inside, outside and balcony cabins will offer freedom for guests to cruise either alone, as a couple or as a family. The high proportion of balcony cabins that are typical of the Mein Schiff fleet has been further increased to 85 per cent on Mein Schiff Relax so that guests will be able to really enjoy the views of the destinations that they visit.
The ship’s maiden season will begin with a seven-night cruise from Palma called ‘Bella Italia Spanish Fiesta’, visiting Civitavecchia, close to Rome in Italy, La Spezia in the Italian Riviera and the Spanish cities of Barcelona and Valencia.
“Civitavecchia, Rome’s historic harbour, is the gateway to the Eternal City”, according to TUI Cruises. From here, travellers can reach Rome’s world-famous sights such as the Colosseum, the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel in no time at all. But Civitavecchia itself also has a lot to offer with its Michelangelo Fortress and charming old town streets.

Meanwhile, La Spezia provides a more relaxed and picturesque experience for visitors seeking a blend of natural beauty and cultural discovery.
La Spezia, an idyllic harbour town on the Ligurian coast, provides access to the breathtaking Cinque Terre, which is a string of centuries-old seaside villages on the rugged Italian Riviera coastline, according to the cruise line. With its charming waterfront promenade, historic palazzi and the famous Naval Museum, the town invites you to explore. Whether culture, nature or Italian flair – La Spezia offers a perfect mix for travellers.
Mein Schiff will also offer an extended 10-day itinerary, with added stops in Palma and Marseille, France.
In Palma, guests have the opportunity to spend a night in the harbour onboard. They can experience the nocturnal charm of the city and Spanish traditions. The changeover day is split over two days to allow for a relaxed check-in. Some guests therefore arrive one day earlier than others, but also leave one night earlier.
And Marseille, the lively harbour city on the Mediterranean coast, combines historical splendour and modern charm. As the oldest city in France, it offers impressive sights such as the Old Harbour and Notre-Dame Basilica. TUI Cruises guests can discover the colourful markets, enjoy Provençal specialities and be enchanted by the Mediterranean atmosphere. Marseille is a fascinating mix of culture, history and vibrant city life.
From May, Mein Schiff Relax will offer guests more Italian destinations – calling at Naples, Palermo and Cagliari as well as Civitavecchia – and in August, it will travel to cities in Spain, Portugal and Tangier in Morocco. The ship will then reposition to Santa Cruz de Tenerife for a winter season of cruising to the Canary Islands and Madeira.
