Metro Cruise Services (Metro) has signed an agreement with New York City Economic Development Corp (NYCEDC) to become Brooklyn Cruise Terminal’s (BCT) sole operator.

The four-year contract marks the first time the company will be undertaking marine terminal and stevedoring operations at the Port of New York and builds on significant growth for Metro in the Northeast region.

The agreement with BCT, which is homeport for Princess and Cunard, will strategically position Metro within the Eastern Seaboard’s largest port.

“The plan is to expand in this port and broadly deploy our suite of services for our esteemed clients,” Metro Cruise Services president Stefano Borzone said. “We look forward to developing our new relationship with NYCEDC and demonstrating our commitment to excellence and dedication to the cruise industry.”

NYCEDC and the Metro cruise team will be working in tandem to attract new cruise customers to Brooklyn, while also encouraging increased calls from loyal clients, Princess and Cunard.

Joint providers of the full range of cruise industry services, Metro Cruise Services and Metro Shore Services are divisions of California-based Nautilus International Holding Corp.
