Thamm will promote Carnival Corporation’s strategic cooperation with the Chinese government and local business partners. The executive, who has been in the cruise and shipping industry for more than 30 years, will also continue to lead Costa Group’s global business.

Thamm’s appointment signals Carnival Corporation’s commitment to helping China build a long-term, sustainable cruise industry.
“As the first and largest global cruise operator in China, Carnival Corporation is excited to participate in the boom in Asia, and particularly in China, of surging consumer demand from a fast-growing economy,” said Arnold Donald, president and CEO of Carnival Corporation. “We are committed to accelerating the advancement of the overall cruise industry in China, consistent with the current five-year plan.
