Small-ship cruising wholesaler, Micro-Cruising, has become an associate member of Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia, the body said in a written statement on 18 September.
The niche operator, which offers ‘small ships, great trips’ global cruise holidays on vessels carrying no more than 100 passengers, has made the move to solidfy its relationship with the cruise industry.
“We are very keen to educate the cruise-focused travel trade on less traditional options available to their clients,” Micro-Cruising managing director Nicola Caygill said. “To that end, we’ll be conducting online training for CLIA-registered agents to open their eyes to a plethora of small-ship cruising possibilities.”
Micro-Cruising’s affiliation with CLIA Australasia will help raise both agent and consumer awareness about the wide array of cruises now available to holidaymakers, according to the cruise body’s general manager Brett Jardine. “As more and more styles of cruising become accessible, it’s important that we ensure agents have a good understanding of the fantastic range of ships and destinations on offer for their clients,” he said.
The cruise operator offers 300 itineraries in 80 destinations which include voyages based around specific interests such as fishing, adventure, food, nature, diving, culture, history and relaxation, on vessels ranging from gulets to river boats and yachts.
