Canadian resident Diane Taylor became the millionth cruise passenger to visit Ireland's Port Of Dublin on 27 September, after visiting on Carnival Cruise Lines' Carnival Legend.
To commemorate the historic occasion, Oisín Quinn, Lord Mayor of Dublin and several other local dignitaries presented Taylor and her husband with a bouquet of flowers, a complimentary tour of the city via limousine and €1,000 spending money.
Carnival Legend, which was also the 100th cruise ship to visit Dublin in 2013, called at the port as part of a 15-day trans-Atlantic crossing from the UK's Port of Dover to New York, US. Following the crossing, Carnival Legend will operate a series of voyages from New York before repositioning to Florida’s Port of Tampa to offer Caribbean departures. Next autumn, the ship will begin a year-round deployment in Sydney, Australia.
