This June, Trimline completed a US$4.5 million transformation project onboard Windstar Cruises’ all-suite yacht Star Pride in Athens, Greece. The 212-guest ship is the third Windstar ship Trimline has refurbished, joining Star Breeze and Star Legend which were renovated last year with matching accommodation and features. Trimline will also upgrade the remaining three Windstar ships.
A highlight of the Star Pride project was Trimline’s work to reconfigure the layout of the suites with new deckheads, flooring, bespoke fixed furniture and revitalised bathrooms.
“Trimline was very pleased to work with Windstar on this significant refurbishment and in particular on the Owners Suites where the outcome on this technical project was of the highest quality and fits well within the Windstar brand,” says Michael Oliver, Trimline’s co-chairman.
Several dining venues were also redecorated, including Amphora Restaurant, which now features new flooring, fixed furniture, mirrors, lights, curtains, loose chairs and modified waiter stations. The Courtyard dining area was outfitted with new stainless steel screens, a waiter station, banquette seating, an artificial living wall and fixed tables and loose chairs. In addition, Veranda was completely revamped with tile flooring, deckheads, a cold servery and relocated coffee machines.
Elsewhere, Trimline reupholstered seating, added loose furniture and table lamps, and replaced flooring in the Show Lounge, and converted two rooms into the Star Screening Room. The team also reupholstered seats, added new lights and artwork in the reception area.
“Trimline was chosen as Windstar’s main sub-contractor for the Pride Phase II refit as we know we can count on the company to complete any project on time, within budget and on schedule,” says Theresa Rasmussen, interior superintendent for Windstar Cruises. “All areas refurbished look beautiful, but in particular the two new owner’s suites are stunning and Trimline’s finish work was key to making this project a success.”
