MSC Cruises has suspended all winter 2015-2016 cruise calls in Tunisia following the government’s decision to declare a state of emergency after recent terrorist attacks on tourists.

Earlier this year, MSC revealed that it would cancel its regular calls in La Goulette after 12 of its passengers were killed during a terror attack at the Bardo National Museum in Tunis on 18 March.

In the wake of the attack, the line said that for the rest of 2015 MSC Splendida would call at Valletta in Malta, while MSC Fantasia would visit Palma de Mallorca in Spain. It also said MSC Preziosa would call at Cagliari in Sardinia, Italy, and MSC Divina would call at Valletta in Italy and head directly to Corfu, Greece.

Now the line has made further alterations to MSC Preziosa’s schedule and the ship will call at Valletta instead of La Goulette between 15 November 2015 and 23 April 2016.

Meanwhile, MSC Magnifica and MSC Poesia will spend a full day in Alicante, Spain, rather than La Goulette during their respective ‘Grand Voyages’ from Venice to Santos in Brazil and Buenos Aires in Argentina this November and December.
