MSC Cruises’ MSC Musica has made its maiden call at the Zayed port in Abu Dhabi, UAE, coinciding with the opening of the port’s new terminal
Officially marking the beginning of the winter 2015/16 season in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Oman, the vessel will be homeporting at Zayed this season.
The new terminal was officially opened this weekend, and is set to help substantially increase the number of cruise tourists that visit Abu Dhabi each year.
MSC Musica will take guests from Dubai or Abu Dhabi on a series of seven night cruises around the gulf area.
Sixteen cruises are scheduled for this winter season, which will conclude at the end of March 2016. Seven night cruise visitors will be able to take in the bay of Khor al Fakkan, Oman’s capital city Muscat, and then Khasab, the northernmost tip of the Sultanate of Oman, before heading back to Abu Dhabi or Dubai.
“It is an honour for MSC Cruises to have MSC Musica berthed here at Zayed Port as it is inaugurated, which marks the first time that a global cruise line homeports in this fascinating and captivating city,” said Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises. “It also reflects the importance that the region and its riveting history and landscapes represent for our guests, and it is testament to MSC Cruises’ capacity to offer the most sought-after destinations as they become accessible.”
