Supermodel Valeria Mazza welcomed MSC Cruises’ MSC Poesia as she made her inaugural call to the port of Buenos Aires on 24 November.
During the welcome ceremony – which included musical performances by Bajofondo, La Bersuit Vergarabat and Guillermo Guido – around 1,500 guests raised AR$50,000 for the Casa Garrahan programme in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The money will be used to construct additional houses to provide shelter for out-of-town children and their mothers while they undergo hospital treatments.
“Without realising it, with a little effort we can be part of something much bigger than us: the future of a child, their happiness and that of their family” said Roberto Fusaro, MSC Cruises’ executive director for Brazil and Argentina. “Family values lie firmly at the heart of the MSC Cruises experience. This is why we look after children so well during our cruises, with their entertainment, care and security always in mind, continuously aiming for their well-being.”
MSC Poesia will sail a range of three, seven, eight and nine-night cruises until April 2014. she will offer calls to Ilha Grande, Ilhabela, Buzios, Copacabana, Cabo Frío and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, as well as Punta del Este in Uruguay.
