Norway-based Multi Maritime is to design two new passenger ferries for Norwegian operator Torghatten Nord.

To be built by Vard Brekvik in Norway, the newbuilds will be delivered in the third and fourth quarters of 2018 and will be equipped with an energy-efficient hull design and a gas-electric hybrid propulsion system.

Both ferries will operate between Halhjem and Sandvikvåg – one of Norway’s busiest routes.
