The MXP Chatbot can answer guests’ questions and help them make bookings for onboard services

MXP is introducing the MXP self-service chatbot, an AI-powered smart digital assistant designed to improve guest experience, streamline onboard operations and help open opportunities to increase revenue.

The MXP Chatbot is available at all times to answer questions based on cruise data. It is also able to move beyond dialogue to support guests in bookings for onboard services, such as reserving a table, checking the cruise schedule or reporting an issue. The MXP Chatbot can provide interactions in any language without requiring translation and regardless of phrasing, topic or language.

Cruise-specific data used by the assistant is structured separately for each cruise, exported in a format optimised for conversational use and frequently updated. This practice is intended to ensure that answers are relevant while also reducing the risk of hallucinations (instances where AI models and chatbots provide incorrect information). This knowledge base can also be expanded with additional data, allowing cruise lines to scale up the solution.

“With the MXP Chatbot, we’re making guest communication more efficient, personal, and accessible,” said Aneta Ivanovska, director of artificial intelligence at MXP. “By enabling instant bookings and accurate, real-time support, it significantly enhances the guest experience – while unlocking new opportunities to drive onboard revenue.”
