Celebrity Cruises' Celebrity Infinity called at the Port of Nanaimo in Canada for the first time in four years on 5 June.

The 2,200-passenger ship, which first visited in 2011, berthed in the port from 7am until 5pm, offering passengers plenty of time to embark on shore excursions and tour central Nanaimo. v As is customary for every cruise call at Nanaimo, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were available for photo opportunities, while cruise visitors were able to look at collector cars from the Old English Car Club in the parking lot at Nanaimo Assembly Wharf.

Tourism Nanaimo also organised a ‘Celebration of National Tourism Week’ at the cruise terminal, enabling visitors to enjoy performances from a small band, go inside a Sikorsky -S76 helicopter and watch canons displays.

Celebrity Infinity visited the port as part of a 13-day cruise, which started in San Francisco in the US, and called at Sitka, Juneau, Skagway, Haines and Ketchikan in Alaska, prior to visiting Nanaimo. After departing Nanaimo, the ship will head to Victoria and Vancouver.
