New Carnival dining experience

Carnival Cruise Lines is to launch two new dining experiences in the main dining room following extensive research into the dining preferences of previous passengers.

Inspired by the practices of a leading New York-based entertainment, food and hospitality organisation, the American Table and American Feast dining concepts will be piloted onboard Carnival Glory from 8 December. The pilot will also take place on Carnival Liberty from January, as well as Carnival Imagination and Carnival Inspiration from February.

During the pilot, Carnival will trial a range of different dishes, presentation styles and other elements to gauge additional guest feedback before rolling out the programme across the fleet in the latter half of 2014 and 2015.

“Dining has always been a hallmark of the Carnival cruise experience and we’re constantly looking for new ways to provide our guests with exceptional meals and service that become a highlight of their vacation, bringing people together while creating fond memories,” said Mark Tamis, senior vice president of guest operations. “With our new American Table and American Feast concepts, we have sought to create a delicious, fun, welcoming and highly satisfying main dining room experience and look forward to our guests’ feedback as we refine the program to take it fleetwide next year.”

Designed to offer a modern restaurant experience and a range of American cuisine, American Table will be offered on Cruise Casual nights. Passengers can enjoy a new serving style and an extensive cocktail and wine menu, as well as a full appetizer menu featuring foods such as fried calamari and spicy alligator fritters. American Table will also offer two entrée menus including the ‘Port of Call’ selection, which will change as the ship visits different destinations, and range of exclusive desserts.

The American Feast experience will be offered on Cruise Elegant nights, which are held once or twice a voyage. Guests can enjoy a full selection of appetizers, such as Mojito cured salmon with minted cucumber slaw, followed by a savory pasta dish, as well as an entrée and an extensive dessert selection.
