MTN Satellite Communications (MTN) has announced contracts to provide telecommunications solutions to several luxury cruise operators.

The company said on 7 January that it would supply VSAT services, television, internet and calling solutions for passengers and crew on Windstar Cruises, Paul Gauguin Cruises, The World (the only residential ship that continuously navigates the globe) and the Freewinds Caribbean charter ship.

“Our team at MTN recognises that no two customers are alike and it is our job to develop communication solutions that not only meet, but exceed their unique communications requirements,” said Brent Horwitz, senior vice president and general manager for MTN cruise and ferry services. “The fact that these prestigious cruise lines chose to use MTN for delivery to customers who demand only the best is a testament to our ability to lead market innovation when it comes to high-quality, reliable maritime connectivity solutions.”

MTN is engaged in a major development programme for its next-generation network, MTN Nexus, which will combine a maritime developed network, platform and products.
