Regal Princess is to debut a new Princess Cruises dining programme when she sails into Florida to begin her maiden Caribbean season this November.
Showcasing the regional delicacies of destinations around the world, the new dining programme will enable guests to enjoy dishes created with local produce, spices and seafood. The regional cruise ship menus be rolled out across the fleet and will include culinary specialties from various destinations including the Mediterranean, Alaska and Hawaii.
“One of the joys of travel is experiencing the culinary specialties for which a destination is known,” said Jan Swartz, president of Princess. “So now when our guests cruise with Princess around the world, they’ll be able to enjoy some of the most celebrated local dishes onboard as well as ashore.”
Inspired by Caribbean destinations, the menus onboard Regal Princess will feature dishes such as island-spiced jerk chicken and Arawak’s Caribbean-style pork chop, a dish that earned Alfredo Marzi, Princess’ corporate executive chef first prize at the 8th Annual Bacardi Bartender and Chef Cruise Competition. The new menus will also feature Red Snapper Mojito, which was designed by Antonio Cortese, Princess’ executive chef, at the 6th Annual Bacardi Bartender and Chef Cruise Competition.
Regal Princess, which will be christened by six cast members from The Love Boat on 5 November in Fort Lauderdale, begins her Caribbean cruise season on 6 November with a short preview sailing. She will then offer a series of seven-day cruises to ports in the Eastern Caribbean including St Thomas, St Maarten and Princess Cays in the Bahamas.
