Costa Cruises is to mark the first birthday of Costa Diadema on 7 November with special onboard games, music and parties.

The cruise line will also mark the occasion by rolling out a series of new entertainment and food and beverage offerings.

Starting in December, the line’s new regional menus with meaty, vegetarian, vegan and children’s options will be available in Costa Diadema’s main restaurants and also in the self-service Corona Blu restaurant. This will enable families to enjoy Costa’s quality dishes while sitting with their children in a more causal setting.

Also in December, the Samsara Restaurant will debut a new Pacific Fusion menu created by Stefano Fontanesi, Costa corporate chef, and Riccardo Bellaera, Costa corporate pastry chef. Dishes are inspired by Asia, the Mediterranean and South America.

Costa has also partnered with Italian brand Agrimontana to offer more ice cream flavours in Gelateria Amarillo and a new multicoloured mobile cart near the pool. Gelateria Amarillo will also offer a traditional Sicilian breakfast with snow cones and brioches.

From January 2016, Corona Blu will also serve Costa-style gourmet vegetarian burgers and burgers made with 100% Italian Fassona beef, fresh vegetables and Italian cheeses. Burgers will be served with Italian craft beers.

Meanwhile, Costa Diadema’s onboard entertainment will also be updated. After their theatre shows, musicians and entertainers will move around the ship performing in different areas dedicated to different genres or musical groups. There will also be more poolside parties and themed festivities.

Based in the Mediterranean, Costa Diadema sails seven-day western Mediterranean itineraries that include calls to Savona, Naples and La Spezia in Italy, Marseilles in France, and Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
