Kuoni Group Travel and Cruise Abroad have become executive partners of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia.

Kuoni Group Travel, which provides tailor-made outbound group touring itineraries and travel agents worldwide, aims to emphasise its commitment to cruise-focused retail agents, wholesalers and cruise lines.

Carly Evans, the company’s business development manager, said: “We are currently experiencing significant growth for pre and post cruise touring and see CLIA membership as a natural fit to support this growing sector of the travel industry.”

Wholesale cruise seller Cruise Abroad, which represents long-time UK and Europe CLIA member Fred. Olsen Cruise Line in Australia, has joined the association to help maximise the line’s reach under the global CLIA banner.

“With so many cruise choices from size to amenities and the array of itineraries available, we believe it’s vital to deal with cruise specialists who can help travellers select the right cruise for them and we know that we will get this support and expertise as a CLIA member,” said Peter Marshall, director of Cruise Abroad.

CLIA Australasia’s executive partner network is expanding rapidly and in April, Wild Earth Travel and the South Pacific Cruise Alliance also joined the association.

“A CLIA membership is a valuable asset at this time of expansion in our region’s cruise industry and we’re thrilled to be offering our new members the support and knowledge they need to get the most out of the current climate of growth,” said Brett Jardine, CLIA Australasia general manager.
