Royal Caribbean International is to homeport another vessel at Florida’s Port Everglades when its Quantum-class newbuild, Anthem of the Seas, debuts in 2015.

Anthem of the Seas is scheduled to debut at Port Everglades in winter 2015, after launching from Southampton, UK. Once in Port Everglades, the vessel will offer a series of Caribbean cruises.

“We are thrilled that Royal Caribbean will be bringing its newest, most innovative cruise ship here to south Florida,” said Steve Cernak, the port’s director and CEO. “Cruise guests have come to expect that the industry’s most modern ships will sail from Port Everglades. Anthem will be a great addition to our fleet.”

Port Everglades is the year-round homeport for a range of Royal Caribbean’s cruise vessels, including Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas. Independence of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas, both 4,375-guest cruise ships, also sail from the port during the winter. In addition, Legend of the Seas will offer departures from Fort Lauderdale this winter, while Vision of the Seas will be deployed throughout the summer.
