Cobham SATCOM has launched a new range of Sea Tel maritime satellite TV systems to provide reliable, high quality entertainment for crew and passengers globally.
The new range of Sea Tel products consists of five new antennas in three sizes for global use, which have all been designed and tested for reliable operation in the harsh maritime environment.
Cobham SATCOM’s Sea Tel 80 TV, Sea Tel 100 TV and Sea Tel 120 TV are advanced 3-axis Ku-band antennas all featuring an innovative programmable worldwide low noise block and multi polarisation, which enables them to work across the globe. New electronics based on the integrated marine electronics platform mean that the systems can be installed, set up and operated easily.
Continuing the focus on performance in Cobham SATCOM’s Sea Tel and Sailor VSAT and FleetBroadband antenna systems, the new generation of Sea Tel Satellite TV antennas features radio frequency (RF) capabilities. In addition, the radomes offer flexible cable installation with both centre and side access, enabling installers to choose the cable lead-in that suits them best. They also feature a large service hatch to provide easy access for maintenance.
For cruise vessels operating in US waters, Cobham SATCOM has developed the Sea Tel 100 TVHD and Sea Tel 120 TVHD. These three-axis Ku/Ka dual band antennas are capable of receiving Ku- and Ka-band signals from three satellites simultaneously, giving full access to DIRECTV HD programming.
“These new antennas have been developed from scratch in our Concord facility, drawing on many years of experience from Sea Tel and Sailor VSAT and Satellite TV antenna development,” said Mads Ebbesen, product line manager, TV solutions, Cobham SATCOM. “With global reception including HD also in the US, unmatched RF performance, easy installation and maintenance, and simple operation, the new generation of Sea Tel Satellite TV provide the platform for shipowners and operators to deliver the best television experience onboard.”
