Swan Hellenic's SH Diana, the third and largest cruise ship in the company's fleet, has been delivered by Helsinki Shipyard.
The ship has embarked on its maiden voyage from Helsinki, Finland, to Palermo, Italy, and is now sailing in the Baltic Sea. It is scheduled to pass through the Kiel Canal on the night of 5 April.
Once she arrives in Palermo, SH Diana will take guests on a ten-night ‘Mysteries of Carthage and the Moors’ cruise. The voyage will visit destinations across North Africa, before calling at Seville in Spain and Lisbon in Portugal. After that, the ship will embark on a nine-night ‘Historic Ports of the Western Seaboard’ cruise departing from Lisbon on 25 April that will follow the coasts of Spain, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands to reach Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Swan Hellenic will then hold a christening ceremony in the Dutch capital on 4 May, featuring American luxury travel industry veteran Valerie Wilson as godmother.
"We're delighted to have taken delivery of this exceptionally beautiful and versatile new five-star vessel,” said Andrea Zito, CEO of Swan Hellenic. “As the largest ship in our fleet, she is the first to be outfitted with large tender boats as well as expedition zodiacs, offering guests a wide variety of extraordinary in-depth experiences seeing what others don't.”
