ICFR is delighted to launch our first-ever Ship of the Year awards and we’re inviting you to help us choose which cruise ships and passenger ferries have set new standards in terms of innovations in construction and design, onboard amenities, environmental stewardship and more since they debuted in 2019.
Before voting starts, however, we need your nominations! To ensure your favourite ship gets the recognition it deserves, all you need to do is head to our nominations page and fill out the form, sharing the name of the vessel and a brief explanation outlining the reasons for your choice.
For a ship to be considered eligible for an award, it must carry passengers and it must have entered service between 1 January and 31 December 2019 in one of the four following categories: cruise, river cruise, ferry and high-speed ferry.
Confidential nominations can be submitted between 1 October and 31 December 2019. The ICFR team will then review all submissions to compile a shortlist of the five ships with the most nominations in each category before voting opens between 24 January and 24 February 2020. The winners in each category will be revealed in the Spring/Summer 2020 issue of ICFR, which will be published in March 2020.
We look forward to collaborating with our readers to showcase the innovation on today’s new ships, while celebrating the skills and creativity of the ship operators, architects, designers, engineers, shipyards and many others involved in bringing them to life.
