Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Epic arrived at Port Canaveral in Florida, US on 12 November to begin her winter season of Eastern and Western Caribbean and Bahamas itineraries.
Norwegian Epic returned to the US after spending a year in Europe where she underwent an extensive renovation as a part of The Norwegian Edge fleet revitalisation programme.
“We saw great success in Port Canaveral when we returned to the port last year with Norwegian Spirit, so we felt it made sense to take our commitment to the next level by bringing Norwegian Epic, one of our largest and most awarded ships, to sail from the greater Orlando area,” said Andy Stuart, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line. “Norwegian Epic revolutionised the cruise industry when she debuted in 2010 and she arrives today in Port Canaveral a nearly new ship, having undergone extensive renovations through the Norwegian Edge programme, and will offer a variety of itineraries varying in length and ports of call.”
Norwegian Epic is the largest Norwegian ship to ever homeport in Port Canaveral and will offer itineraries ranging in length from three, four, six and seven days.
Guests sailing on her seven-day Eastern Caribbean itinerary will visit Tortola, British Virgin Islands; St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands; and Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas. Those wishing to celebrate New Year onboard the ship can join a seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruise departing on 30 December.
Meanwhile, those on Norwegian Epic’s Western Caribbean voyages will call at Cozumel, Mexico; George Town, Grand Cayman; Ocho Rios, Jamaica; and Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas. A seven-day Western Caribbean sailing will depart Port Canaveral on 23 December to enable guests to spend the holiday season onboard the vessel.
Norwegian Epic will also offer three- and four-day Bahamas itineraries to Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay in January and March 2017.
“Port Canaveral is the proud new homeport for Norwegian Epic and our goal is to provide excellent customer service for our cruise guests, which is what Norwegian Cruise Line has come to expect of us," said John Murray, CEO of Port Canaveral.
