Heineken Global Duty Free partnered with Red Bull and Norwegian Cruise Lines to launch a new brand engagement initiative onboard the cruise line’s latest newbuild Norwegian Getaway.

In early January, around 1,300 crew members enjoyed a private party onboard the vessel with two of Europe’s top DJs, Steve Johnsen and Sietze Rademaker, otherwise known as The Disco Accidents. The party allowed the crew to familiarise themselves with the Heineken product portfolio.

“We’re passionate that Norwegian guests enjoy the best possible interaction with the Heineken brand and our larger portfolio,” said Carlos Candeias, global account manager, Heineken Duty Free. “Together with Norwegian and Red Bull, we decided to throw a party for the crew to let them enjoy them the ultimate Heineken experience, bring them closer to the brand and engage them with our latest bottle technology – the STR UV glow in the dark bottle.”

Norwegian Getaway, which will be the largest ship to homeport year-round in Miami, will feature a range of Heineken products. The company will work closely with onboard bartenders and hospitality personnel to ensure the ship’s 4,000 guests experience the full Heineken brand experience.

Candeias said: “For us, the crew members are an essential front-line partner in ensuring our shared customer has the best possible drinking experience and that the essential rituals of the Heineken brand are perfectly presented every time.”
