Oceania Cruises’ new ship Sirena is to feature contemporary suite accommodation when she joins the fleet after a US$40 million refit next spring.

Currently sailing as Princess Cruises’ Ocean Princess, the 684-passenger ship will transfer to Oceania Cruises’ fleet in March 2016 and will immediately undergo a 35-day refurbishment in Marseille, France. The line will use the recent makeover of Insignia as a blueprint for the renovation.

Sirena’s six Owner’s Suites, which span nearly 1,000 sqft, will be redesigned with a ‘clean, airy colour palette’, custom-made furnishings, Oceania Cruises’ exclusive Prestige Tranquility Bed, a newly renovated master bathroom with an oversized shower, a private half-bathroom for guests, and a private teak veranda.

Meanwhile, the four Vista Suites will offer a seating area, a sizeable bedroom with Prestige Tranquility Bed, a marble-infused master bathroom with expansive shower, a second bathroom for guests and a private veranda.

Guests booked at Concierge Level or above will be able to access new Bvlgari bath amenities, while those in Owner’s and Vista Suite will be given a keepsake gift box with Bvlgari toiletries.

“World travellers and savvy cruisers are drawn to our fleet of intimate and luxurious ships because we continually invest in the product to further enhance our exceptional on board experiences,” said Jason Montague, president and chief operating officer for Oceania Cruises. “We recently introduced new gourmet dining experiences for Sirena, and our elegantly re-designed top-tier suites provide added style and comfort to some of the most spacious accommodations at sea.”

Inspired by the recent renovation of Insignia, Sirena will feature Oceania Cruises’ specialty dining restaurants – Toscana and Polo Grill – and more recent venues such as Baristas and the grill at Terrace Café. The ship will also feature two new speciality restaurants – Tuscan Steak and Red Ginger – while guests will be able to enjoy a new Jacques Bistro gourmet lunch experience in the Grand Dining Room, which features some of chef Jacques Pépin’s signature dishes.

Sirena will enter service on 27 April 2016 and sail a 14-night cruise from Barcelona, Spain to Venice, Italy. During her inaugural season, the ship will offer Mediterranean and Caribbean itineraries featuring a mix of classic destinations and 11 new ports of call including Gaeta, Italy; Golfito, Costa Rica; and La Paz, Mexico.
