Oceania Cruises is to visit 19 new ports of call during 89 sailings – which include 60 new destination-rich itineraries – during the 2016-2017 season.
Between late 2016 and early 2017, the line’s fleet will sail cruises ranging from seven to 180 days in length to destinations on six continents. It will also offer six sailings that traverse the Panama Canal.
Oceania Cruises will also visit 19 new ports of call. These include Alotau and Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea; Arica, Chile; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; Golfito, Costa Rica; Harvest Caye, Belize; Sept-Iles in Quebec, Canada; Catalina Island in California, US; and Ensenada, Manzanillo and La Paz, Mexico. The line will also head to Nelson in New Zealand and several new Australian ports including Broome, Burnie (Tasmania), Esperance, Exmouth, Perth, Portland and Penneshaw (Kangaroo Island).
The increased number of itineraries has been partly attributed to the addition of newbuild Sirena, which will debut in April 2016.
“The addition of Sirena gives us greater flexibility when it comes to itinerary planning, allowing us to explore more destinations and offer a greater variety of cruise options,” said Jason Montague, president and COO at Oceania Cruises. “Our Winter Collection for 2016-17 includes a beautifully blended mix of must-see, bucket list travel destinations and undiscovered jewels only accessible by our fleet of intimate and luxurious ships.”
During her first winter season, Sirena will offer 14 cruises through the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, Hawaii, the South Pacific and Australia.
Meanwhile, Marina will sail three South American voyages, several Caribbean and a 21-day transoceanic voyage from Miami to Lisbon, Portugal via the Caribbean and Africa’s west coast.
Regatta will also sail in South and Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean, while Riviera will mainly sail seven- to 14-day Caribbean itineraries. Nautica will offer eight voyages in Asia and Africa, four of which are new.
In January 2017, Insignia will depart Miami on her ‘Around the World in 180 Days’ and call at 98 ports in 36 countries on six continents. Guests also have the option to choose from eight individual segments of the voyage.
