Oceania Cruises is to sail three new itineraries exploring Africa and Asia onboard its 1,250-guest ship Riviera at the end of 2024 and into 2025.

The 59-day ‘Grand Voyage’ will begin in Barcelona, Spain, on 14 November 2024, and call at the Canary Islands, before sailing down the western coast of Africa with visits to ports in Senegal, Gambia, Ghana and an overnight stay in Walvis Bay, Namibia. The voyage will continue with an overnight stay in Cape Town, South Africa, before heading up the eastern coast via Madagascar for an overnight stay in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. Riviera will then sail to the Seychelles, Maldives, Thailand, and Malaysia, before concluding on 12 January 2025with an overnight stay in Singapore.

The 27-day ‘West African Rhythms’ itinerary will include the first leg of the Grand Voyage from Barcelona to Cape Town, while the 32-day ‘Colonial Crowns’ itinerary will include the second leg from Cape Town to Singapore.

Alongside larger ports such as Cape Town, Phuket in Malaysia and Colombo in Sri Lanka, Riviera will take guests to smaller destinations such as Antsiranana in Madagascar, Hambantota in Sri Lanka and Sao Tome. Travellers will have more than 400 shore excursions to choose from across the course of the full Grand Voyage itinerary.

“These longer, destination-immersive voyages offer curious, well-travelled guests the chance to explore some of the most off-the-beaten-path ports in the world, all from the elegant surroundings of Riviera,” said Frank A Del Rio, president of Oceania Cruises. “Sailing from Europe to Asia, via both coasts of Africa, is a true bucket list journey, combining iconic cities and unknown gems, with our incredible onboard service and the best value in luxury cruising, these voyages are hard to resist,”
