Oceania Cruises’ three R-class vessels Regatta, Insignia and Nautica are set to undergo a US$50 million upgrade as part of the line’s largest refurbishment programme in spring 2014.
As part of the refurbishment, which is scheduled to take place over a six-week drydock period from April to June, Oceania Cruises will renovate the suites, staterooms, select public rooms and fit new bathroom facilities in the Owner and Vista suites onboard the 684-guest ships.
The line will enhance the vessels’ various dining venues, expanding its flagship Grand Dining Room and Toscana restaurants, adding a grill to the renovated Terrace Café and installing the popular Baristas coffee bar.
Horizons, the line's observation lounge, will also be refurbished with a new colour scheme and décor, while the ships' only indoor smoking area will be fitted with an advanced air filtration system and enclosed in glass. Martinis show lounge will receive updated furniture, while the Canyon Ranch SpaClub will be fitted with new steam and changing rooms.
“This refurbishment programme is an incredible undertaking but we are excited by the opportunity to bring some of the best features of our O-Class ships to Regatta, Insignia and Nautica,” said Kunal Kamlani, president of Oceania Cruises. “We will preserve the personality, elegance and comfort of these vessels while furnishing certain areas with the updated décor and amenities that are found on Marina and Riviera. This will ensure a consistent experience across the fleet that we know our guests will love and appreciate.”
Following her renovation in Marseilles, France, Insignia will sail a seven-day Jewels of Europe cruise from Barcelona on 8 May, while Nautica will offer a ten-day Cliffs and Coves cruise from Civitavecchia, Rome on 16 May. Regatta, which will be refurbished in Vancouver British Columbia, will re-launch on 7 June to sail a ten-day Majesty of Alaska itinerary from Vancouver.
