First woven vinyl flooring to be certified by the IMO for use in the marine industry

UK-based company Ovation Flooring has developed the first woven vinyl flooring to be certified by the International Maritime Organization for use in the marine industry.
Stylish and quiet underfoot, Fitnice Marine is easy to maintain and can be cleaned with a light detergent, bleach, or vacuumed. These qualities make Fitnice Marine suitable for use in various areas onboard cruise ships and passenger ferries, including cabins, spa areas, restaurants, corridors and public areas.
The flooring has already been successfully installed on several vessels.
“We identified the obvious benefits of woven vinyl to the maritime industry a few years ago and we have worked hard to develop and bring Fitnice Marine to the market,” said Adrian Ashworth, director of Ovation Flooring. “We have tested it for water jet cutting and the product works well in this regard, which will allow us to offer the special designs and custom floors we have enjoyed supplying in our LVT ranges over the past 17 years. Customers are delighted with the results.”
