Pandaw is to become the first river expedition cruise operator to sail in the upper Red River in Vietnam in July 2015.

Departing Halong Bay on 10 July, Angkor Pandaw will sail a new ten-night Halong Bay and Red River itinerary enabling guests to explore the bay’s iconic limestone islands and caves, as well as a floating school and villages. The 16-suite ship will then enter the Kinh Thay River, mooring at Yen Duc Village surrounded by historic mountains. Angkor Pandaw will then sail on the Duong River to visit local villages known for their 11th century folk painting and traditional ceramic production.

Guests can then enjoy two days of sightseeing in Hanoi, before sailing the lower and upper Red River to visit its rice paddies and 8th and 11th century Buddhist temples. Unexplored by any other river expedition company, Pandaw’s route into the upper Red River will visit the region close to China’s Yunnan Province, enabling guests to hike from a remote river village.

Angkor Pandaw will then sail on the Da River to Hoa Binh and Mai Chau, before guests disembark in Viet Tri.
