President Engineering Group (PEGL) subsidiary Bestobell Valves is to supply cryogenic valves for TGE Marine Gas Engineering’s fuel systems in AIDA Cruises’ two, dual-fuel cruise ships.

Bestobell Valves will supply around 40 globe valves, non-return valves and check valves for the 984 ft vessels, which will be able to run on LNG, as well as marine diesel oil or heavy fuel oil.

The valves will be manufactured in Sheffield, UK, before being incorporated into TGE’s fuel systems, which will then be shipped to Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries yard.

“This is a major contract win for us in what is a growing area of our business – the use of LNG as a marine fuel,” said Mark Henley, managing director of PEGL. “We have the expertise and technology to design and produce bespoke cryogenic valves to suit customers’ needs on an international basis and we are excited about future growth opportunities for our business in this sector.”
