P&O Cruises has appointed the senior management team for its new 141,000 gt cruise ship, which is scheduled for delivery in spring 2015.
Captains Paul Brown and David Pembridge will alternately lead the shipboard team, supported by deputy captains Martin Allen and Hamish Sunter and executive pursers Darljit Sharma and Keith de la Mare.
Brown, who worked on Artemis, Aurora, Azura and Ventura after joining the company in 1996, will join the head office in Southampton in early 2014. Pembridge, who joined the company in 1976, and the other members of the senior management team will join at a later date.
The 141,000 gt ship is currently under construction at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone yard in Trieste, Italy and will be the largest cruise ship ever built for both P&O Cruises and the British market. It will offer many of the line’s popular signature features found on ships such as Oriana, Ventura and Azura, as well as a range of new concepts. The vessel will also deliver increased operational and environmental efficiency.
