P&O Cruises second LNG-powered Excel-class ship, which will join the cruise line’s fleet in December 2022, is to be named Arvia.
P&O revealed the name, which is Latin for ‘from the seashore’, in the below video, with each letter depicted in a maritime setting.
“Arvia has been designed to travel to the sun year-round and to maximise views of the ocean and the seashore from everywhere on board, so it seemed a very fitting name and one which will reflect the experience for guests on board,” said Paul Ludlow, president of P&O Cruises. “The seashore is known for its relaxing properties and tranquillity, and a holiday on Arvia will have relaxation at its heart.”
