French-flagged cruise line Ponant is to offer American travellers the chance to explore Cuba with new ‘People-to-People Cultural Exchange’ cruises in 2017.

The 64-passenger Le Ponant will offer seven- and eight-night itineraries, which will enable guests to explore some of Cuba’s historical, cultural and natural sites with local experts. They will also have the chance to meet Cuban citizens, artists, professionals and civic leaders.

“Enjoying thoughtfully-curated programmes and engaging with locals have always been the essence of the Ponant cultural experience,” said Navin Sawhney, CEO of Ponant Americas. “Ponant has introduced Europeans to Cuba in the past and we are now delighted to offer Americans this enriching opportunity from a most comfortable setting aboard a cruise on Le Ponant.”
