Danish port aims to enhance customer service levels by focusing on smaller groups of passengers

Port of Aalborg and Visit Aalborg have introduced a new policy to limit the number of cruise calls to one per day, allowing them to give cruise guests the “best possible experience” in the Danish city.
The move was prompted by the growing number of cruise ships and passengers visiting Aaalborg, Denmark’s only inland cruise port. Over the past five years, passenger numbers have risen from less than 1,000 per year in 2014 to 40,000 in 2018. Numbers are set to increase further – 34 calls have been scheduled for 2019 and 45 are already booked for 2020.
“We want to give all our guests the best possible experience every time they visit Aalborg, and by going forth with this concept, we can focus on improving on each single cruise line and ship instead of spreading our focus,” said Michael Rosenkilde Lind, cruise manager at Port of Aalborg. “This way we can give our guests our full attention, the best experience, and the loving hospitality that we are known for.”
