Port of Piraeus Authority officially opens new cruise pier

The Port of Piraeus Authority has inaugurated its new cruise pier, named Pier Saint Nikolaos.

Built by Tekal and Naftiliaki Technodomiki, the new pier is 284m long and has a depth of 11m. It will provide the Greek port with an additional 250m of cruise berth, allowing it to accommodate up to 10 cruise vessels in total.

The opening ceremony was attended by Elena Kountoura, Alternate Minister of Economy, Development and Tourism; Captain Xu Lirong, chairman of China COSCO Shipping Corporation; Yiannis Moralis, mayor of Piraeus; Mr Gavrilis, regional vice governor of Piraeus; and other dignitaries.
