Fred. Olsen Cruise Line’s 880-guest Boudicca will begin her cruise season from the port of Rosyth near Edinburgh in Scotland on 1 June 2015.

Boudicca will offer six cruises from Rosyth, an increase of two turnaround calls since 2014.

The ship will begin her Rosyth season with a seven-night ‘Land of the Vikings’ cruise to Norway, where she will cruise the Oslofjord and then call at Oslo, before making Fred. Olsen’s first-ever call in Brevik, located in Telemark at the end of the Eidanger peninsula. The ship will then cruise Karmsundet, a narrow channel between Karmoey Island and Haugesund, before arriving in Haugesund to enable guests to visit the annual Viking Festival in Karmøy. The final calls include Eidfjord and Jondal.

During a nine-night ‘Castles & Gardens’ cruises, Boudicca take guests to various castles in Scotland including Cawdor Castle or Dunrobin Castle in Invergordon; Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands; Glengorm Castle and the Wildflower Meadow in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull; Tarbert; Loch Fyne; the Eden project, and St Austell Bay and the Lost Gardens of Heligan in Falmouth. Guests will also stop in Newcastle to visit the city’s Castle Keep and Alnwick Castle in Northumberland.

“Boudicca’s forthcoming cruise season from Rosyth builds upon Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ already-close relationship with this convenient, regional port,” said Nathan Philpot, sales and marketing director at Fred. Olsen. “Our ship Black Watch enjoyed a successful cruise season from here last year, which is why we have increased our cruise calls from four to six for 2015. This increase in turnaround calls from Rosyth showcases our commitment to the port and enables us to offer our loyal guests in Scotland more variety in duration and destination when they are choosing their next ex-Rosyth Fred. Olsen cruise.”

In 2016, the 804-guest Black Watch will return to Rosyth to offer seven cruises between 20 August and 12 October. Itineraries will include a nine-night ‘A Taste of Iceland’ voyage, a 13-night ‘Scandinavian Capitals & St. Petersburg’ sailing or a 12-night ‘Spain, France & Portugal’ cruise.
