Denmark’s Port of Skagen expects to host a record 29 cruise calls and 39,000 passengers in 2017, following on from 13 cruise ship visits in 2016.

Highlights of the 2017 season will include maiden calls from Royal Caribbean International’s Independence of the Seas and Vision of the Seas, P&O Cruises’ Aurora, TUI Cruises’ Mein Schiff 6, Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Seven Seas Explorer and Marina.

Repeat callers will include Saga Holidays’ Saga Sapphire, Fred. Olsen Cruise Line’s Braemar, Seabourn Cruise Line’s Seabourn Quest, Silversea’s Silver Whisper and Silver Cloud, Cunard Line’s Queen Elizabeth, Windstar Cruises’ Wind Surf, Sea Cloud Cruises’ Sea Cloud II, P&O Cruises’ Arcadia, Azamara Club Cruises’ Azamara Journey and National Geographic Orion.

“With the amount of cruise ships calls booked for 2017, we are really starting to see the effect of the new cruise facilities inaugurated in 2015,” said Willy Hansen, CEO at Port of Skagen.
