Port Saint John in New Brunswick, Canada, is to deepen its main harbour to make the port more accessible to cruise ships and larger vessels.

As part of the seven-year, CAD$205 million project, which will be partly funded by the government of New Brunswick and the Canadian government, the port will carry out major work at the West Side cargo handling piers, and deepen the main channel from 8.4m to 10m.

Deepening the main channel will enable cruise vessels to dock at both high and low tide, allowing guests to spend longer exploring Port Saint John’s tourist attractions.
