Portsmouth International Port (PIP) in the UK expects to handle 4% more passengers over Easter weekend (3-6 April), than the same period last year.
Around 20,000 passengers are set to sail from the port to France, Spain and the Channel Islands between 27 March and 6 April.
Brittany Ferries has nearly 19,000 passengers booked on Easter crossings, an increase on last year’s total of just over 18,000. Condor Ferries also expects to services to Jersey and Guernsey to be busy.
The period between 1-2 April will be the busiest with 2,500 passengers already booked to travel with Brittany Ferries on 1 April and more than 3,000 planning to sail the next day.
“I’m delighted to see that even more passengers are discovering the hassle free holiday that starts at PIP,” said Kalvin Baugh, ferry port manager at PIP.
