Prestige Cruises Holdings (PCH), which operates Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, has extended its five-year maintenance contact with marine solutions and services provider Wärtsilä.

Signed in 2012, the original service agreement facilitated the projection of costs associated with the maintenance of 27 Wärtsilä engines on six vessels in PCH’s fleet. The comprehensive contract now covers two additional ships and a total of 35 engines.

“We have been very satisfied with our cooperation with Wärtsilä,” said Robin Lindsay, executive vice president of vessel operations at PCH. “Wärtsilä has displayed its ability to deliver the value it promised in the agreement, providing us the peace of mind through risk sharing and a streamlined cost structure.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Wärtsilä provides a broad scope of services including maintenance planning, spare parts supply, training, technical surveys, condition monitoring and workshop services.

“The purpose of maintenance agreements is to enable customers to focus on their core business,” said Sean Carey, general manager of contract management, Wärtsilä North America. “We are very pleased that Prestige sees the added value in this agreement with Wärtsilä and has chosen to add two more vessels.”
