Princess Cruises has unveiled its entertainment line-up for new ship Sun Princess, which will be the largest in the fleet when it launches in 2024.
The Princess Arena will host three new shows – ‘Vallora, A Pirate Quest’, ‘Stage Struck’ and ‘Viva La Música’ – and the reimagined ‘Fiera!’
“The Princess Arena is an engineering marvel that allows us to create awe-inspiring entertainment, offering our guests a completely different experience every night,” said Denise Saviss, vice president of entertainment experience for Princess Cruises. “Not only will our productions shine, but the venue itself, with its state-of-the-art stages, captivating lighting design, and immersive surround sound, will deliver show-stopping spectacles on every voyage.”
Princess Cruises has also partnered with Cirque Éloize to bring three original contemporary circus performances to Sun Princess. The shows – ‘Blue’, ‘Come Fly Away’ and ‘Artbeat’ – have been specially created for The Dome, a new top-deck, multi-level, glass-enclosed entertainment venue inspired by the terraces of Santorini. These three shows will showcase the Sun Princess troupe with four lead vocalists, 13 dancers and eight Dome Cirque artists, performing aerial hoops, aerial poles, bungees, contortions and more.
Musical acts, performances and game shows will also take place in the ship’s Piazza, which will also host cruise parties.
Sun Princess is currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy. Its maiden voyage is a one-way, 10-night itinerary scheduled to depart on 8 February 2024 from Barcelona, Spain, sailing to Civitavecchia, Italy.
