Princess Cruises has partnered with chocolatier and pastry chef Norman Love to introduce a new chocolate range onboard Regal Princess during her inaugural Caribbean season this autumn.

Named Chocolate Journeys, the new range includes desserts, drinks and truffles, and will be rolled out across the entire Princess fleet throughout 2014-2015. Love has personally trained Princess Cruises’ pastry team to deliver the programme.

“Around the world there’s incredible passion for chocolate, as evidenced by ever-growing consumption and the plethora of specialty varieties,” said Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises. “So we’re excited to partner with one of the best chocolatiers in the world to bring some additional moments of decadence and delight to our guests with truly amazing chocolate experiences that we know they’ll love.”

Love has produced 15 chocolate desserts that will be offered on a rotational basis in the ships’ main dining rooms, speciality restaurants – Sabatini’s and Crown Grill – and as part of the Chef’s Table experience.

Guests can also enjoy Chocolate Love Pop truffles during the Captain’s welcome reception, chocolate petits fours on formal nights, and chocolate-inspired cocktails, such as Chocolate Bacon Bourbon Bliss or a Chocolate Chile Margarita, in any of the ships’ bars and lounges. Vines, Princess’ signature wine bar, will also offer samples of Black Single Origin Dark chocolates paired with specific wines that have been selected by Love.

The ships’ pastry chefs will also hold demonstrations to teach guests how to create chocolate desserts, while Love’s boxed chocolates can be purchased in the onboard shops.

In addition, the ships’ Lotus Spa will offer a Chocolate Indulgence body treatment, which combines a chocolate renewal scrub, a whipped chocolate body mask and chocolate massage oil.

“One thing is for certain, chocolate makes people happy,” said Love. “So what I create and what Princess Cruises offers its guests are quite similar – what could make people smile more than savouring decadent chocolate creations while enjoying their cruise vacation? I think we have a winning combination.”
