Danish shipyard Fayard is on track to complete two new Scandlines passenger ferries by 2015.

Work has been progressing steadily on both MV Berlin and MV Copenhagen, which are scheduled to enter service on the Rostock-Gedser route in the second half of 2015.

A new bridge, which is located on the top deck, has been installed on MV Berlin, while all navigation equipment has been sent to the supplier for an update to ensure outdated equipment is not installed on the newbuilds.

Around 500 people will complete the remaining work on the vessels, installing closed-loop gas exhaust cleaning systems – known as scrubbers – and HVAC systems, as well as new cabling. They will also install a new interior in lightweight materials on decks 7 and 8.
