Royal Caribbean Cruise Ltd (RCL) has appointed hospitality and leisure industry veteran Stuart Leven as managing director of its UK and Ireland Royal Caribbean International business.

Leven, who has held senior positions at various global companies, will work with Jo Rzymowska who will lead the UK and Ireland Celebrity Cruises business.

Dominic Paul, managing director of RCL, will expand his role as vice president of international for all three brands and cover Latin America, Asia Pacific and the Caribbean, as well as Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Paul will report directly to Royal Caribbean International president and CEO Adam Goldstein.

“We are evolving our business to be in the best possible position for future growth,” said Paul. “Our new structure in the UK and Ireland, along with the industry-leading management teams now taking shape, means that we can confidently deliver against the individual growth strategies of Royal Caribbean International, Azamara Club Cruises and Celebrity Cruises.”

In September, RCL revealed plans to create three individual businesses for its Royal Caribbean International, Azamara Club Cruises and Celebrity Cruises brands in the UK and Ireland, following an extensive review into the company’s rapid global expansion. The changes are to come into effect in January 2014 and recognise the company’s growth, positioning each cruise line for future development through brand-specific sales, revenue and marketing functions.

RCL is still to announce who will manage the Azamara Club Cruises business.
