The port of Le Havre has exceeded 100 cruise calls for the first time in one season with a visit from Celebrity Eclipse on 28 October.
Following Celebrity's 2,800-passenger ship call, the season continues with November visits to the Normandy port by Grand Princess and Cunard’s Queen Mary 2, along with three overnight stops from Celebrity Constellation.
The latest visits cap a series of records for Le Havre which has seen a year-on-year increase in cruise calls from 50 in 2009 to 95 in 2011, before hitting the century mark in 2012.
Further growth is expected in 2013, with 126 cruise scheduled stops including 19 double, five triple and six overnight calls. MSC’s Opera will be making seven turnaround visits and will also be interporting French passengers at Le Havre for 10-day cruises from 15 July.
